Description
A native Atlantan, Elizabeth Perry grew up in the Wildwood neighborhood, attended Morris Brandon and graduated from The Westminster Schools. Elizabeth continued her studies at the University of Georgia where she was a Hope Scholarship recipient and graduated with a B.A. in Journalism—Magazines from UGA's prestigious Grady College of Journalism, and minored in French.
She was selected as an intern for Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and worked on Capitol Hill for the Senator during college summer break. After graduation, Elizabeth was hired for a full-time position in Senator Isakson's office in Washington, D.C. She then accepted a lateral promotion to work in the Office of Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX) as her Deputy Press Secretary. Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA) then recruited her to serve as his Communications Director and promoted her to Director of Operations, the most senior non-political position in any congressional office.
In 2013, Elizabeth married Jeff Perry, also of Atlanta. Jeff is a Partner at Nelson Mullins in the firm's premier Emerging Growth Companies practice. Before joining Nelson Mullins in May 2018, Jeff practiced in both the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. offices of King & Spalding for over a decade, where he guided a number of notable public and private companies pursuing complex commercial transactions. Except for a five-year stint in the nation's capital, he too is a lifelong resident of Atlanta, having grown up in Morningside, attended Galloway and graduated from Westminster. Jeff received his B.S. degree in Natural Resources from Sewanee: The University of the South and earned his J.D. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law. Active in the community, Jeff sits on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation and is a member of the Lawyer's Club of Atlanta.
After moving home when Jeff relocated at King & Spalding's request, Elizabeth accepted an offer to become Executive Assistant to Hala Moddelmog, President and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
In 2017 and 2018, Elizabeth and Jeff welcomed their sons, Ben and Jack, respectively.
Determined to remain active in the community, she served as Campaign Manager for State Representative Beth Beskin's 2018 re-election campaign for House District 54. She served as President of the Garden Hills Garden Club for two years and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Garden Hills Civic Association, where she is the Vice President and chairs the communications and gala committees. Elizabeth also served as Fundraising Co-Chair for The Westminster School's Class of 2004 10-year reunion. She sits on the Parents Council of The Preschool at Peachtree Road Methodist as Co-Chair of the New Family Outreach Committee, as well as being the Co-Chair for The Grow With Me Annual Fund at The Preschool. Even in light of co-chairing the fund during a pandemic, she raised the most funds for the school in any annual fund year.
Elizabeth has been honored as both a Hill Climber and One to Watch, by Roll Call, a newspaper covering Capitol Hill. While in D.C., she organized The Congressional Club's First Lady's Luncheon in Honor of Michelle Obama, was Events Chair of the Georgia State Society and managed to get a full Waffle House kitchen set-up in the U.S. Capitol for a reception, a feat that is still talked about to this day.
Elizabeth and her family reside in Garden Hills, are members of Piedmont Driving Club and attend Peachtree Presbyterian Church.
